# Creating a Trigger

A trigger is mandatory to activate a tag in the DCP. So, with our new data route (listening to DataLayer events), we must next put in the conditions.

In the trigger configuration, you must select the JENTIS State we previously created. Also, add a condition if required, e.g., looking for a value defined in the previously created variable “Event Category.”\\
