What is the Shopify App and how to install it

The Shopify App by JENTIS streamlines the tracking setup process, sparing you from the intricacies of implementing tracking code and JENTIS datalayer pushes. To get started swiftly, ensure you have the following prerequisites:

  • Shopify Site

  • JENTIS Account

  • at least one container within the JENTIS Account

Installation Steps:

  1. Log into your Shopify account.

  2. Navigate to App and Sales Channels > App Store or visit the Shopify App Store directly.

  3. Search for the JENTIS App, install it, and open it. You'll land on the configuration page.

  1. Once you've installed the app, you need to configure it by obtaining your Container ID, Full Tracking Domain, and File Hash. Log in to your JENTIS account and access your Container IDs or create a new container. You can find this in Settings > Containers. On how to find the necessary information refer to the screenshot below for guidance:

In this example, the required information for configuration is as follows:

  • Container ID: https://bse7jg.example.com

  • Full Tracking Domain: example_com

  • File Hash: qjfgum

Ensure not to include the starting and closing " characters and exclude the ".js" part for the File Hash.

Tracked Events by the Shopify Plugin:

The Shopify Plugin automatically tracks the following events:

  • pageview

  • search

  • cartview

  • productlist

  • productview

  • addtocart

  • removefromcart

  • order

This comprehensive tracking allows you to gain valuable insights into your Shopify store's performance.
